On track at Cherryorchard
Good weather has put contractors building the new Cherryorchard athletics track on course to finish their work by mid-May.
Councillors were given a report by engineer Rory O'Mahony, telling them that lighting columns had been erected and fencing was complete.
Tarmac was being laid on the track itself, a 10-day job, to be followed by the rubberised tartan surface on which the athletes will run. Given warm temperatures, it is hoped that everything will be ready by May 19.
