St Aidan's Cathedral was packed on Thursday night as the Silvertones Choir hosted its annual Summer Concert in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare. The choir, which has been performing for the past nine years, was in fantastic form under the direction of Eithne Corrigan and treated the audience to a wonderfully varied programme of music.

Special guests on the night were the renowned Aileen Donohoe, who brought some performances from her tribute show to Doris Day, and Tony Carty who treated the audience to hits from huge musicals such as Lés Miserables and Chess.

Also in fine form on the night were the orchestra of Fintan Cleary on piano, Siobhan Lynch on cello and Ann Wickham on flute. A trio of talented performers, they provided the ideal accompaniment for the choir.

The choir had done a remarkable job in preparation for the night and among the highlights were performances of 'God Help The Outcasts' and 'The Road Less Travelled'. The money raised from the evening is now being counted and will go directly to Wexford Hospice Homecare. The choir wished to thank everyone who came along and contributed on the night.
