Presentation Centre gig to capture the magic of The Dubliners
The magic of The Dubliners is to be re-captured onstage at The Presentation Centre with a special tribute show from The Liberties Irish Folk Band on October 5. 'All for Me Grog' will see the band faithfully recreate the unmistakable sound of the Dubliners' original line-up of Ronnie Drew, Luke Kelly, Barney McKenna, Ciaran Burke and John Sheahan with the exact same instrumentation, songs and voices.
The unusual and wonderful voice of Ronnie Drew is brought to life by Wayne Wilder and on occasion, his voice has even been mistaken for that of the great man himself. Meanwhile, with his flaming red hair and beard, banjo maestro James Gallagher's powerful voice is reminiscent of Luke Kelly in performing classics such as Black Velvet Band, The Town I Loved So Well, The Auld Triangle and many more.
Among the songs on the play-list for the night are The Black Velvet Band, McAlpine's Fusiliers, The Spanish Lady, The Irish Rover and many, many more. It looks set to be a fantastic night of music and tickets are now on sale for €20 from www.thepresentationcentre.ie or by calling the centre on 053 92 33000.
