Latest play is guaranteed to make you laugh
Enniscorthy thespians are in for a treat on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 19-21 as Enniscorthy Drama will have them rolling in the aisles with an extremely humorous play 'Shakespeare's a Dick' at the Presentation Art Centre.
This hilarious masterpiece written by Mark Aloysius Kenneally and performed by local actors Annemarie Whelan as Ingrid, Kit Bolger as Doris, Tim Connaughton as Raimie and Brian Mullen as Wally and directed by EDG's own Fintan Kelly, is guaranteed to put a smile on even the most solemn of faces.
A most clever parody that would have amused even the Bard of Avon, himself, I'll wager.
All comic hell breaks loose when a young, philistine called, appropriately enough, Wally, ridicules the name of Shakespeare and chooses to attend a Monster Truck Show instead of a theatrical performance of 'As You Like It'.
The wrath of the Maestro descends on him like a biblical plague, and after a heavy night of carousing he finds that he can only speak in Shakespearean verse.
His best friend Raimie seeks a cure from a high school teacher Ingrid while his girlfriend Doris swoons for the new, romantic sounding man in her life.
This is a must folks so put it in the diary now. Tickets at €10 can be booked by calling Annemarie at 083/4008840 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Camross Drama Group will also be performing on the night and following the three performances Enniscorthy Drama will be taking Shakespeare's a Dick on the One Act Circuit 2017.
