Kildavin stage is set for a tale of two loves!
The stage is set and cast and crew are in the process of putting the finishing touches to a new production for Kildavin/Clonegal Drama Group.
'The Two Loves of Gabriel Foley' by Jimmy Keary has been chosen as the group's 17th production and it promises to be one of the best yet. A side-splitting comedy, it tells the story of Gabriel, a middle-aged bachelor farmer, who lives with his mother. She thinks she'll never get rid of him. Then he meets upmarket Hazel and joins the posh drama group in order to romance her. He is unaware that Chrissie, a cheerful country woman who comes in to help his mother, fancies him and by the time her feelings become known, Hazel is already attracted to Gabriel and has plans for his farm.
This year's show features the much loved cast of Johnny Doyle, John Hickey, Rebecca Murphy, Enda Smyth, Joe Mernagh and Carmel Gibson. The group are also delighted to welcome back Mary Gibson to the group after some years of exile in Bunclody.
With the group always on the lookout for new talent, they are also delighted to welcome Sinead Doyle from Clonegal, daughter of Johnny Doyle, to their ranks.
The show runs for three nights on Saturday February 9; Sunday, February 10, and Saturday, February 16 in Spellman Hall, Kildavin, kicking off at 8 p.m. nightly. All support is greatly appreciated and a great night is guaranteed.
