Hats off to Alice for a wonderful millinery presentation at library

It was a real celebration of style at Enniscorthy Library as Alice J Kelly hosted a special millinery or hat-making workshop.

Alice has worked in millinery for the past six years from her Blackwater studio and produces superb bespoke hats and fascinators that have been a hit at every occasion from weddings to a day at the races.

She trained as a tailor over thirty years ago and then worked as an interior decorator for many years before going into her latest venture.

Alice told her fascinated audience of her background and how she got into the business and how ladies come from all over the country to order their one off hats and headpieces for special occasions.

She then showed the ladies a selection of her work and got a few ladies from the demo to show different styles and how to wear them.

To finish, she showed the ladies how to make a fascinator from start to finish before taking some questions from the audience about millinery and the different materials she uses for her various creations.

She thanked everyone for coming along on the night and hoped that she had inspired them to be a little bit creative themselves when it comes to making some creative head-wear for future occasions.
