Jim Byrne, Island Road, Enniscorthy with his aunt Elizebeth Molloy and uncle Larry Byrne at his 50th. Birthday Party in Bellefield GAA Complex

There was a wonderful atmosphere at Bellefield GAA Complex recently as family and friends gathered to celebrate Jim Byrne from Island Road reaching the milestone age of 50!

While Jim had organised for a few drinks with family and friends, there were just a few surprises thrown in for good measure by his friend Chris Cullen, one of which was organising for our photographer to be present to mark Jim's half century celebrations!

A well-known character around town, Jim was joined especially delighted to be joined by his aunt and uncle Elizabeth Molloy and Larry Byrne who were by his side as he blew out the candles on his special birthday cake.

Jim worked for years at Slaney Meats and more recently has been employed working on the bypass and will be a familiar site to many out on the roads.

Paying some of the goodwill forward,

Jim was delighted to collect donations from those who attended the party on the night, which were all paid over to a charity close to his heart - Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

Over €660 was collected on the night and Jim thanked everyone who contributed to the charity and came along on the night to join in the fun and craic as the party went onuntil the wee hours of the morning.
