There was a great buzz around Treacy's Hotel at the weekend as guests arrived from all over the country to attend the second annual Enniscorthy Folk & Ballad Festival. Looking to build on the success of the inaugural event, the weekend saw a wonderful lineup of traditional music taking place at venues across town including Treacy's, Toss Kavanagh's, Benedicts, Popovici's, Stamps and Doyle's of Market Square.

In particular, the festival saw a great number of people make the journey from the North and across the Irish sea, owing to the UK bank holiday, but locals were also joined by people from Kerry, Clare, Laois Dublin and elsewhere.

The weekend saw some fantastic traditional music from big names such as The Druids, Clann Eireann, The Navvies, Catalpa, Clover and many more. Organisers were delighted with the reaction the weekend received and are hopeful that it's something that will continue to go from strength to strength over the next few years, entertaining both locals and visitors alike and doing its bit for Enniscorthy tourism.
