Art lovers from all over descended on The Presentation Centre over the weekend to attend the official opening of a new exhibition by Wexford-based artist Helen McClean. Although she now calls Wexford home, Helen has practiced in several locations such as Lancaster and Glasgow and has work sited in Ireland, the UK and the USA.

An extremely talented lady, Helen uses paint, glass and mosaic creating pieces that reflect light and the influence of the space the work is situated in. This exhibition, entitled 'An Unfolding Portrait' looked amazing in the beautiful surroundings of the Presentation Centre and Visual Arts Manager Lisa Byrne was delighted to house the exhibition until September 7.

Helen spoke to the audience a little on her process and her love of colour, something which is evident in her work. Her friend and 'Tweeting Goddess' Samantha Kelly was tasked with formally opening the exhibition and she encouraged everyone to get the word out and try to ensure as many people as possible see Helen's work.

An extremely varied and intricate exhibition, it will have pride of place at the Presentation Centre until September 9th and the public are invited to swing by and take a look at some of the beautiful pieces for themselves.
