A new state of the art community playground is on the cards for Ballindaggin.

The Ballindaggin Development Group submitted plans for the park to Wexford County Council in mid February and is currently waiting on a decision from the body. However the group are hopeful of receiving planning and are currently fundraising for the large park which will be situated beside St Colman's National School.

The community park will consist of a children's playground, walking track, underage playing pitch and picnic area and public toilet.

Some of the equipment which will be in the playground include a double junior swing, two bay swing, track ride tower, agility trail, quartet seesaw, horse spring, fairytale dog, multispinner carousel, slide and triple play tower complete with slide and bridge.

Ballindaggin Development Group has organised a fundraising night at the dogs in Enniscorthy Racetrack on the June Bank Holiday Monday and tickets will be available for this soon.

A decision on the application is expected shortly.
