Pupils in St Senan's National School have been acknowledged for their sporting excellence and their commitment to their education.

At a ceremony in the school some of the children received certificates for full attendance all year.

Speaking to this newspaper Vice-Principal, Seamus Kavanagh, praised the children for their commitment.

Certificates were also presented to pupils who competed in a swimming gala in the Waterfront in Enniscorthy which they won for the very first time.

'That caused great excitement in the school,' said Mr Kavanagh.

'They were excellent,' he added.

Medals were also presented to the members of the school's Rackard League girls squad and to the players who won the school's in-house soccer league.
