St Mary's Day care centre in Bunclody was buzzing with activity recently when it celebrated its 20th anniversary.

One of the most highly regarded facilities of its type in the county the centre provides an ideal social outlet for older people in the community within the Bunclody and surrounding areas.

The centre welcomed a large number of visitors through its doors for the celebratory event which marked a milestone date in the history of the facility.

The clients of the centre enjoy a wide range of activities each week and are encouraged to pursue areas of interest.

The aim of the centre is to provide a caring, social and recreational service for older people in the general Bunclody area.

A large number of people visit the centre each week and they enjoy light refreshments and the social interaction of meeting up with friends and neighbours.

The facility also gives people the chance to participate in informative talks on a wide range of subjects.

The high regard in which the centre is held by everyone who uses it was underlined by the turnout for the anniversary celebration and the expressions of goodwill extended to the management and staff.
