A very successful school blitz was held recently at the astro centre at CWCW Ltd in Enniscorthy.

The blitz was organised as part of the School Soccer Coaching scheme and it involved four teams.

The games were hotly contested but the CWCW 'A' team won through on a scoreline of 2-1 with a brace from Cloughbawn man, Peter Murphy.

A late goal from Matiss Krumiss gave Youth Reach a lifeline but ultimately the game was just out of reach.

The CWCW 'B' team played the Youth Reach 'B' with the latter emerging victorious on a 3-2 scoreline.

The victors secured the win with a hat-trick from Michael Fortune (Shamrock Rovers) and Youth Reach had Gary O'Farrell (CWCW) to thank for their brace.

The final saw CWCW 'A' team go up against the Youth Reach 'B' team and the close nature of the game saw it going to penalties on a 0-0 scoreline.

However, the CWCW team eventually came out on top scoring all five of their penalties with the Youth Reach team finding the net from four of their spot kicks.

The event was organised by Cllr John O'Rourke and Ross Cleary, from CWCW Ltd, and they both expressed gratitude to everyone who coached, refereed and participated in the event.

They also thanked the local authority in Enniscorthy and the LCDC for their support.
