The schools soccer coaching scheme in conjunction with Youthreach Enniscorthy held a friendly match with St Patrick's Special School in County Wexford Community Workshop Enniscorthy Ltd that was decided on a last-minute penalty kick.

The St Patrick's team entered the game on the back of a very impressive winning streak having emerged victorious from their five previous games.

Youthreach students Dylan O'Sullivan and Jason Maguire organised the game as part of their course in sports and recreation.

In the first half St Patrick's took the lead with a spectacular strike from Liam Treacy and they headed in at the break with a 1-0 lead. However, Youthreach responded quickly after the break to draw level with a goal from Evan Allen.

St Patrick's responded through Dylan Larkin but the advantage was cancelled out by goal from Dylan O'Sullivan.

It was a very close contest that ultimately ended in a controversial decision by Head coach and referee, Cllr John O'Rourke, who awarded a penalty to St Patrick's.

The ball was subsequently dispatched from the white spot with precision by Liam Treacy.
