School to get new rooms
Two national schools in the Enniscorthy and Gorey areas are to get additional classrooms after plans were given the thumbs up by the Department of Education.
Minister Paul Kehoe confirmed to this newspaper that additional classrooms will be developed and other work carried out at Carrigduff National School, in Bunclody, and at Scoil Mochua, in Gorey.
In Bunclody, the Department of Education has given the green light for a new classroom in addition to new toilet facilitates for assisted users and a special education teacher room.
A new classroom will also be constructed at Scoil Mochua, with approval also given for two special education teacher rooms and toilet facilities.
Minister Kehoe said the department's school building unit will issue detailed letters on the projects to the respective school authorities.
He also said that the schools will be notified by letter about the level of grant aid funding sanctioned to them by the department over the coming months.
