Santa will enchant the castle

Brendan Keane

The 'Santa's enchanted castle' initiative will take place in Enniscorthy again this year and such is its popularity that it's already 70 per cent booked.

According to a spokesperson for the organisers 70 per cent of bookings will be checking into the Riverside Park Hotel and Treacy's Hotel - both of which are offering fantastic Santa Sleepover Packages.

Such is the level of interest in the initiative that almost 500 room nights have been booked already.

'Enniscorthy will welcome up to 6,000 tourists into the town across November and December,' said the spokesperson.

'This is fantastic news for local restaurants, bars, cafés and retailers who are preparing for a busy festive season both in Enniscorthy and across Co Wexford,' she added.

Santa's enchanted castle offers visitors a truly interactive experience during which they will get to explore the castle in the company of Santa's elves.

They will also be accompanied by some well known Disney characters and other special friends.

Visitors will get to view the specially themed rooms based around films and musicals like Toy Story and the Greatest Showman.

They will also get to explore the '100 acre wood' to seek out Winnie the Pooh and his friends.

A visit to the infamous Frozen Castle will also be worthwhile as it will give people the chance to gather snowflakes to weaken the strength of the wicked Snow Queen.

The spokesperson commented: 'Be enthralled with the Lion King UV display while being entertained by the hilarious Timone and Pumba.'

Mrs Claus will also be in attendance to offer up yummy surprised in her traditional shop before the visit culminates in a private meeting with Santa Claus.

In Santa's room, children (and parents) will get to chat to the main man and his elves, and check if they've made the 'nice' list.

There will be opportunities for a family photo with the magic mirror and a special gift will be handed over for people to take home.
