Enniscorthy Vocational College opened its doors to the public for its annual PLC course open night.

Speaking to this newspaper about the event the college Principal, Dr Iain Wickham, said it was a great night with a large crowd attending.

'We had students from other schools in the catchment area and from Gorey and Kilmuckridge as well as mature students,' he said.

He said there are many benefits to PLC courses including the fact they give students an insight into particular areas of study while at the same time carrying fully certified qualifications such as the QQI level 5 and 6 in childcare.

Nursing and healthcare support are also courses on offer while business related courses and performing arts are also very much to the fore.
