Anthony Russell from Enniscorthy received an unexpected Christmas present when he scooped the top prize of €5000 in the Oylgate/ Glenbrien GAA Fundraiser Superdraw.

The draw, which took place in Clayton Whites Hotel, was organised to pay off the debt on the club grounds. In excess of €40,000 was raised since ticket sales began in September.

Other prize winners included Jim Higgins, Gary Conroy, Paidi Casey, Padraig Byrne and Michael Scallon.

'We are very grateful for all of the support that we received from clubs across the county and from Whites, who are our main sponsors,' said Club Secretary Majella Doran.
