A textile artist from Enniscorthy is fast making a name for herself in the national arts world.

Such is the inherent talent of Jane Crosbie that she was invited to exhibit her work at the prestigious Bloom festival in Dublin.

Jane, who is originally from Perth in Western Australia, lives in Kilcarbry and speaking to this newspaper about her work she said she loves living in Wexford and was delighted to be chosen to have her work at Bloom.

'I applied sort of the last minute because I saw it on the website and I took a photo of one of my pieces and submitted it,' she said.

'I was delighted when they chose my piece for inclusion in the exhibition,' she added.

In addition to her textile work Jane also designs resin jewellery.

'I like to work with materials that already exist rather than buying new things because it's a way of upcycling,' she said.

'I just love working with fabric that already exists,' she added.

Jane and her husband, Peter, from Dublin, moved to Wexford in September and love it here.

'It's lovely and laid back,' said Jane. 'We're renovating an old farm and I hope to open my own studio there,' she added.
