Local man to run for school

Brendan Keane

An Enniscorthy man has set his sights on completing a 100km run in 24 hours to raise money for a local school.

Paul Cullen will compete in the Wexford Festival of Running event on April 14 and 14, to raise money for St Patrick's Special School in Enniscorthy.

Paul has set up a gofundme page to help with his fundraising effort and explaining why he wants to do it he said ongoing developments of the new school - after many years waiting - needs support.

'I want to use this run as a way of raising money to support St Patrick's Special School in Enniscorthy,' he said.

'After many years waiting they are now getting a new purpose-built school but not all of the equipment they need will be paid for by the Department of Education,' he added.

All of the money raised by Paul during his run will go directly towards the cost of purchasing an aquatic therapy pool which will be of great benefit to the pupils.
