St Mary's national school in Enniscorthy held an open day event last week that attracted a large crowd to the facility.

The pupils took great pride in showcasing their work to parents, grandparents and guardians.

Visitors to the school got to view the great facilities on offer for pupils and they got an insight into the wide range of extra curricular activities and subjects available to pupils.

The school operates under the patronage of the Church of Ireland and has three mainstream teachers, two support teachers, and two SNAs.

The staff in St Mary's pride themselves on motivating the pupils to achieve their maximum potential both in terms of academics and also social.

The school welcomes children of all backgrounds.

The visitors for the open day were warmly welcomed to the school by staff members and also by the pupils who were happy to highlight the various things that take place there.

The school also has an active flag status which is reflective of its focus on physical activity as well as excellence in the classroom.

This month the pupils enjoyed a trip to Woodfield House, Oylegate, for their annual school tour.
