Graduation ceremony is held for FETAC students

ONE HUNDRED students from three training centres were presented with 130 different awards at a special ceremony in Sean Og's, Kilmuckridge, recently.

Students of various subject such as Health Care, Child Care, eBusiness Studies, Beauty Therapy, Tourism, and Employability Skills, received certs in various levels from FETAC Level 3 to 6.

They studied at the Kilmuckridge Centre of Further Education, the G Training Centre in Market Square, Gorey, and with COTS, a FAS Local Training Initiative in Kilmuckridge.

They were presented with their certs by guest of honour Professor Pearse Colbert, a Kilmuckridge native who is Professor at the School of Business Studies in Trinity College. He is also patron of the Kilmuckridge Centre of Further Education and the G Training Centre.

Louise Keane, Manager of the two centres congratulated the students on all their hard work, and representatives from FAS also commended the students on their commitment to the programme.

The students ranged in age from 17 to 63. 'Our focus is on upskilling and retraining people, and helping them gain points for entry to third level if that's what they are hoping to do,' said Louise.

Courses are still ongoing and the next big recruitment drive for September has started.
