Enniscorthy rockers, the Old Fogartys, will be hosting a very special night in Holohan's Bar, in Slaney Place, on March 14.

The event is being organised to raise money for Wexford Hospice Homecare and it follows on from two very successful similar events over the last two years that saw the band perform a Woodstock tribute night and a night of homage to Creedence Clearwater Revival (from whom the band takes its name).

What will make the forthcoming gig extra special is the fact that a host of local singers and performers will join the band on the stage for what promises to be a fantastic night out.

The band invited local singers from across the county to register their interest last week and the response was fantastic with some very well known and highly regarded performers set to be involved so it should be a very exciting event.

The set list for the gig has also been revealed and it features some of the most well known and much loved Beatles songs in history including the likes of: 'Please Please Me'; 'I Feel Fine'; 'Can't Buy Me Love'; 'Twist and Shout'; 'A Hard Days Night'; 'Help'; 'I've Just Seen a Face'; 'Norwegian Wood'; 'Let It Be'; 'Ticket to Ride' and 'Paperback Writer' to name but a few.

The band will give sponsorships cards to the guest singers with a view to raising as much money as possible for the charity.

In addition to performing some songs themselves the Old Fogartys will also provide the backing for the guest singers on the night with rehearsals taking place imminently.

Last year's event raised over €4,500 for the Hospice and the band is hoping for even more success this year.
