There was plenty of excitement at shops around the local area once again last week as our team were out with another set of five crisp €20 notes to hand out to five lucky Enniscorthy Guardian readers. Sales Executive PJ Banville and Photographer John Walsh were up and out early last week to reward people picking up a copy of their favourite local paper with a nice bit of pocket money.

While the duo usually receive a warm welcome when they are out and about, they were greeted with twice as much enthusiasm when they had some cash to hand out!

The pair visited Bunclody first where they stopped into EuroSpar. While there, they spotted Walter Byrne of Ryland Road picking up his copy of the paper and he was delighted to get €20 into his hand. From there, it was over to Steemers/O'Leary Newsagents where local Liz Kelly was over the moon to be the lucky winner.

There was plenty of coming and going at O'Reilly's SuperValu as people flocked in to gather supplies ahead of the big snow storm and Edel Keane of Ballypreachus got €20 to help with buying in the essentials on us.

Similarly in the Quik Pick on the Ross Road in Enniscorthy, people were keen to pick up supplies and to find out what measures were being taken locally by picking up a copy of The Guardian. One of those lucky readers was Billy Mernagh of Pearse Road who collected a nice little bonus. Finally, the lads made the journey to Corrigan's Spar in Oulart where Imelda Goff was the lucky winner.
