The organisers of a recent family fun day in Enniscorthy have expressed great satisfaction with the success of the event.

The Enniscorthy Christian Fellowship organised the fun day as a follow-on initiative from a recent summer camp - which was also a resounding success.

Speaking to this newspaper one of the organisers, Lorna Burt, said everyone had a great day and the fact the weather was good added to the event.

'We were happy that it was a good day because that also made a difference,' she said.

The activities included bouncy castles, face-painting, balloon modelling and stalls - at which children were able to win tokens for sweets and treats.

'It wasn't a fundraising event but was just a fun day to follow on from the camp,' said Ms Burt.

The organisers were very appreciative of the help they received from local people and they also expressed gratitude to everyone who turned up on the day.
