The rewards for quite a bit of hard work were reaped for Bree Community Development Group recently as they dropped into Bank of Ireland in Enniscorthy to collect a cheque for €1,000 in prize money from the Bank of Ireland National Enterprise Town Awards.

The community spirit that exists in Bree was well and truly noted as they scooped second place in the Leinster Awards which was announced early in December at a lavish ceremony in Lyrath Hotel, Co Kilkenny.

As well as collecting their framed certificate noting the achievement, the group were also promised a cheque for €1,000 to continue their wonderful work in the local community and BOI Enniscorthy Manager Marguerite Murphy was delighted to be able to hand over the money to Chairperson Bridie Galavan, congratulating her on all the group's hard work.

Ms Galavan once again noted the community spirit and resilience that exists in Bree, stating that 'the people of Bree and surrounding areas have always shown tremendous energy and commitment in seeking to improve local facilities and create new opportunities for our local community'.

She thanked Bank of Ireland for their support, as well as everyone in the local community who gets involved and gives their time and energy to their projects.
