It's set to be a busy week at Enniscorthy VTOS this week as they celebrate College Awareness Week by opening up their doors to the general public. The Enniscorthy VTOS Open Week got underway yesterday (Monday) and runs until Friday.

On Thursday, Wexford Campus IT Carlow will present pop up lectures in the Further Education and Training Centre above The Wilds Restaurant on Wafer Street, kicking off at 11.30 a.m.

'We are delighted to be part of a nationwide campaign to promote the importance of post-secondary and Further Education,' said VTOS Co-ordinator Eithne Agar. 'There are lots of options out there and College Awareness Week encourages people of all ages to consider further education as part of their future. The new Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board Further Education and Training Centre here on Wafer Street is your one stop shop for advice on courses on offer.'

In conjunction with College Awareness Week, Enniscorthy VTOS presented the Inaugural VTOS Ambassador Award to past pupil Tony Kyens yesterday (Monday). Presented by Michael O'Brien of the WWETB and Bernie Morrissey of Enniscorthy Credit Union, who are sponsors, the award reflects the hard work and dedication put in by the recipient who has 'distinguished himself in many respects in recent years'.

Tony holds an MBS from the Wexford Campus of IT Carlow and has acted both as Teacher and mentor to the students of the VTOS programme.

Enniscorthy VTOS is grateful for the support of the Wexford Campus of IT Carlow and Enniscorthy Credit Union for their support on College Awareness week. For more information on College Awareness Week, please visit www.collegeaware.ie. For more details on courses visit the WWETB website.
