Obituary - Cathy Palmer
The London Wexford Association has expressed its regret over the passing of one of its most active members, Cathy Palmer (nee: O'Connor), who died aged 72 on Tuesday, May 28.
A native of Shroughmore, Ballindaggin, Cathy resided in Highcroft Road, Kingsbury, London NW9.
She passed away following an illness that she battled with true grace and strength right until the very end.
Cathy, along with her husband, Stephen, was an avid supporter of the association and attended all of the organisation's functions.
A spokesperson for the association said the couple enjoyed all of the organisation's social gatherings.
'Cathy was a beautiful positive inspirational lady in every sense always had a warm smile on her face,' she said.
'A pleasant lady who loved to have a conversation and enjoyed the craic and always willing to give a helping hand when needed,' said the spokesperson.
Always proud of her Wexford roots one of Cathy's favourite highlights was to see the members of Ballindaggin Pipe Band visit London to lead the St Patrick's day parade.
They were exceptionally proud times for her and her family.
Cathy will be sorely missed by the committee and all the members of the London Wexford Association and all her friends.
'On behalf of the association we extend our deepest sympathies to Stephen and all the family,' said the spokesperson.
'Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad time,' she added.
'May her gentle soul Rest In Peace'.
