Cathal comes to the fore in final of Wednesday Sweep

On Wednesday, March 27 a total of 54 golfers enjoyed a meal together at the Courtown Golf Club to celebrate competing in the grand finale of the Wednesday Sweep competition, which has seen local golfers playing alongside each other on a weekly basis since October of last year.

Over 100 golfers, both members and visitors, played a 12 hole game of golf on the day but it was Cathal O'Donoughue who would be crowned the overall winner of Grand Slam, taking home the treasured golden cup for his continuous efforts and high scores each week. Keen golfer Pascal Storan said 'A wonderful evening of great food and company was enjoyed by all' and he wished to thank the Captain and Vice Captain of Courtown Golf Club for presenting the golf prizes on the night. Pascal also thanked Tom Lynch and Diarmuid Swords for their contribution, in organising the grand finale and giving out the golf cards on the day. The Wednesday Sweep will take place again in October, and anyone interested in taking part can contact Pascal on 087 2073822.
