Barrier is restrictive for buggies

A barrier in a laneway connecting two residential areas of Enniscorthy is causing problems for people with buggies according to a member of the local authority.

At this months meeting of the Municipal District Council, Cllr Jackser Owens, made reference to a laneway 'from the Fr Murphy side to Fr Cullen Terrace' and said a barrier in place there is causing problems for a lot of people with young children.

He said the barrier in place there is 22 inches wide while the average buggy is 26 inches wide.

'They have to lift the buggies over the barrier,' he told officials.

He asked if something could be done to address the issue.

In response Senior Executive Engineer, Tadgh O'Corcora, said: 'We will look into that.'
