The people in the Ballymurn area are an ingenious group who are well known for coming with different community initiatives.

Now that local children are spending a bit more time at home, one local woman created a novel way to keep them entertained. Linzi Flanagan started a bear hunt in the village and it proved to be very popular.

Parents and children were encouraged to put a teddy bear in their window or somewhere in the garden and then when parents were out walking with their children they were encouraged to go 'bear hunting' and see could they spot where the bears were located.

Another resident organised a book initiative for the Irish Cancer Society.

One resident told to this newspaper there is a strong sense of community in Ballymurn and that was highlighted by the different things people are doing and engaging in locally.
