A passport for global change
Students from Coláiste Bríde in Enniscorthy have been presented with a 'global passport' award for their work on climate change.
In particular the students, who formed the Climate Change committee, were rewarded for their efforts to increase awareness around sustainable development.
The award was presented to the students by geography teacher, Jennie Doocey.
Speaking to this newspaper about the award Ms Doocey said: 'This award recognizes the meaningful action taken by Coláiste Bríde students throughout the year as they aspire to support global solidarity for a sustainable world.'
The students also staged a climate change protest in Enniscorthy to highlight their concern over inaction on the part of the Irish and world governments to implement adequate measures to address issues to do with climate change and the environment.
