The welcome mat was rolled out at Enniscorthy Garda Station recently as past and present members of the force gathered with members of the public to enjoy a nice cuppa for a great cause. A good crowd arrived into the station over the course of the morning and it was also a great chance for them to get to know their local gardaí.

An annual event, one of the organisers behind the morning, Tony Fagan, explained that they host a coffee morning in each garda district for a local cause. The beneficiaries in Enniscorthy are the Hope Cancer Support Centre, who have great ties with the gardaí locally. Local businesses donated some sweets and treats to go with the cup of tea and Sgt Colum Matthews was delighted to welcome members of the public to the station.

While money is still coming in, the event was said to have raised over €500 for the cause and Tony wished to thank everyone who came along and contributed in any way to the morning.
