Offer refusals discussed

The issue of housing offers being refused by local authority tenants was raised at this months meeting of Enniscorthy Municipal District Council.

Cllr Barbara-Anne Murphy asked how long it takes, when an offer of a house is refused, for that property to be offered again to someone else and in response Martina Doyle, from the housing section, replied: 'It could be a couple of weeks.'

Director of Services, John Carley, added: 'We also want the refusal in writing so that could delay it a bit as well.'
