You can't beat a good chat over a nice cuppa and there was plenty of that at Ballymurn Hall recently as it hosted a special coffee morning in aid of CWCW. The event was the brainchild of three local sisters Margo Breen, Anne Kehoe and Martina Boylan all of whom were determined to raise some funds for a great cause.

'The CWCW was chosen because a sister of ours attends the new unit there,' explained Margo. 'She went to St Patrick's Special School and now she goes there and we wanted to give something back for all the great work they do there.'

While initially things were quiet enough, there was a deluge of people after 11 o'clock and the sisters were busy handing out teas, coffees and sweet treats to all their visitors. They managed to raise a total of €1,050 for the cause, a figure they were extremely happy with.

'We didn't expect to raise so much,' said Margo. 'We were over the moon with it. People were so generous and we'd like to thank everyone who came along on the day, baked cakes for us and contributed prizes. We are extremely grateful.'
