Life is a Cabaret in Oylegate at Hospice Fundraiser
The craic was ninety in Mernagh's of Oylegate recently as they hosted a special cabaret night in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare. The fundraiser was the idea of upright bass player Jonathan O'Hanlon, guitarist Derek O'Toole and singer Paddy Maher who lent their talents to the cause and kept everyone entertained on the night.
'The three lads just decided to get together and play a bit of music for charity,' said Eamonn Mernagh, owner of the establishment and Chairman of Wexford Hospice. 'They're not a band or anything like that, but you wouldn't think that to listen to them. They were brilliant and played a bit of everything and kept everyone going. We had a right crowd in and it was a great night.'
The evening managed to raise a total of €629 for Hospice which will go directly towards helping them to maintain the outstanding services they offer to people with cancer right across the county. Eamonn wished to thank the trio of musicians for all their hard work in organising the evening and everyone who came along on the night.
