Having celebrated 70 years serving the people of Enniscorthy, Garahy's Pharmacy were delighted to provide a great start to the New Year for the Parkinson's Association of Ireland's Wexford Branch recently, by handing over a cheque for €2,430.

The money was raised through a recent coffee morning to mark the 70th anniversary of the landmark Slaney Street business, which was a great success and saw great support from the local community.

At this stage, one of the longest established businesses in town, Garahy's was established back in 1948 by the late Padraic Garahy, a native of Co Offaly, and his wife Helen from Monthrath. The pair worked hard to grow the business and in 1972, Padraic's son David joined the family business, where he can still be seen behind the counter today.

Mr Garahy wished to thank everyone who came along on the day and wished him all the best and was delighted to hand over the cheque to such a worthy cause and one that is close to his heart.
