Hospice coffee morning is a great success

Brendan Keane

The organisers of a coffee morning event in Oylegate have hailed its success and said it looks like being the best one ever.

The event was organised by the Oylegate Sunflowers group with the aim of raising money for Wexford Hospice Homecare.

The brainchild of Evelyn Kinsella, the event was held for the fourth time this year and while the exact figure raised has yet to be ascertained due to money still coming in one of the organisers said that as of Friday €4,240 had been raised this year.

'That figure will increase slightly as there is more money still to come in, but we are delighted with how it went,' said Maudie Maher, when speaking to this newspaper.

To-date the event has raised a total of €12,850 for hospice and the organisers expressed gratitude to everyone in the community for their ongoing support each year.

'It shows the high regard that everyone has for hospice and the work it does in the community,' said Ms Maher.

'Everyone is always glad to give their support to it.'
