There was a wonderful atmosphere of togetherness recently as the Christian community of Enniscorthy gathered for the annual St Aidan's Parish walk. A real social event, the walk sees participants from St Mary's Church of Ireland, St Aidan's and St Senan's Parish all join together for a leisurely stroll through town followed by refreshments afterwards.

'It's always a very pleasant experience,' said Fr Billy Swan. 'It's lovely walking together as Christians in solidarity. Each year we usually have a theme and this year, being the World Meeting of Families, we decided that it would be family. Basically we were thankful to be part of the family of the parish and the Christian community in Enniscorthy. We encouraged everyone to wear yellow as well and it made for a lovely sight as we set off around town.'

As always, the walk saw a great attendance and this year organisers were blessed with the weather as participants set off from the Cathedral in glorious sunshine. Afterwards, it was back to the Church Institute for a cuppa and an opportunity to mingle. Fr Billy wished to thank everyone who came along on the day as well as Rev Nicola Halford and everyone at St Mary's for being such gracious hosts.
