Fun on the run with Ballymurn 5km!

There was a fantastic atmosphere in Ballymurn recently as over 300 people arrived in the village for the annual 5k fun run. In its fourth year, the run has gone from strength to strength and has been very successful in raising funds for both Temple Street Children's Hospital and Ballymurn National School. This year's event, sponsored by KDK Scaffolding, managed to raise over €4,000 which will be divided equally among both causes. Organisers Bobby and Mag Redmond were delighted with how things went.

'It was a lovely day, it couldn't have gone any better,' said Bobby. 'There was a great atmosphere and we got wonderful support from locals and people from all over who ran and walked and we're especially grateful to our sponsors KDK Scaffolding. This is our fourth year doing it and it's taken on a life of its own at this stage. I had only intended to do it the once, but it's become so successful that it's impossible to stop doing it.' This year's event also saw a race between teachers and parents of Ballymurn NS with a mere one second scooping a memorable win for the parents!
