Volunteers sought: The Hope Cancer Support Centre is seeking volunteers to work in their centre on Wafer Street, as well as able-bodied volunteers for their Charity Shop on Millpark Road on Tuesday afternoons. Gaelscoil Inis Córthaidh will hold an Oíche Oscailte (open night) tomorrow (Wednesday) from 6 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
The Drumgoold school is welcoming parents/guardians who are interested in sending their children to the school.
A limited number of places are still available for September 2019.

The next whist drive takes place at St Anthony's Unit at the CWCW on Friday, February 8, getting under way at 8 p.m.
The cost of admission is €5 on the night and tea will be served.

The destination for this year's St Aidan's Parish Pilgrimage has been decided as Medjugorje.
The trip will also include a one-day stop over at the beautiful and historic Dubrovnik.
The proposed dates for the pilgrimage are Monday, September 30, to Saturday, October 5.
These dates are only approximate at the moment and the cost of the trip will be announced at a later date.

Sing to Me
Following on from the success of his solo show 'Little Folk on Tour', Kyle Riley is back to get you and your little ones moving with a new show at the Presentation Centre this Saturday, February 2 at 11 a.m.
The 'Sing To Me Tour' features songs from his 2018 release by the same title, some traditional children's music and a couple of tunes for the adults. There's the fast paced 'Astronaut', a whirlwind tour of our Solar System or the slower 'Do you Ever Feel Sad About the Dinosaurs?', a ballad about asteroids and changes.
It's an hour of fun folk and cool rock music, sure to get you moving. For your under-eights, your rock toddlers and the little boppers in between, it's fun for the whole family. Tickets are €7 or €25 for a family of four. For more details see presentationcentre.ie.
Having gained a major following in Enniscorthy through his portrayal of Buddy Holly in Buddy the Musical, Kildare rock'n' roller Cado will launch his new EP 'Satisfy My Soul' this Saturday, February 2, at 8 p.m. in the IFA Centre on Mill Park Road. Cado is set to put on a wonderful live show on the night, with support from DJ Lewis Boogie.
The event takes place with the support of South East Rock'n' Roll Club and tickets are priced at €10.
Enniscorthy 10k run
The countdown is well and truly on for the annual Enniscorthy 10k run which takes place on Sunday, February 10.
The event, staged by Slaney Olympic, is sponsored by Creane and Creane and sees a range of prizes up for grabs including €250 for first man and woman back, €250 course record bonuses and prizes for first under-20, over 40, 50, 60, and 70.
There will also be a €200 prize for the first men's and women's teams of four with €100 for second. Race registration is at the Shamrock's GAA Club in Clonhaston and the race kicks off at midday.
Registration and pack pickup will be from 9.30 a.m. at the clubhouse and the prize-giving takes place in St Senan's School afterwards.

St Senan's Defibrillator
A new defibrillator has been installed on the outside wall of St Senan's Church having been donated by the Ger Devereux Memorial Fund. The potentially lifesaving equipment will now be available to anyone in distress and the code for the box can be obtained in case of an emergency by calling Enniscorthy Garda Station.
Trained users will also know the code.
Those wishing to train in the use of the defibrillator are asked to contact St Senan's parish office. The CPR/AED course will take four hours to complete and is run in conjunction with Enniscorthy Red Cross.
If you haven't had the opportunity to see it yet, there's one more chance to see Enniscorthy Drama Group's hit pub comedy 'Well, Anything Quare?' this Thursday, January 31, at Treacy's Hotel.
The show has received rave reviews as it comes to the conclusion of what is its second run.
Set in a typical Irish pub and using a real pub as a set, the show aims to portray the very finest of Irish 'pub banter' with a series of colourful characters holding court on the topics of the day in their own hilarious style.

Enniscorthy Musical Society have confirmed that they are to stage the cult classic 'Sister Act' at Coláiste Bríde from April 22 to April 27.
Rehearsals are now under way for what looks set to be a magical production and early bird tickets are now available to purchase at a price of €12 from ticketsource.eu.

Renowned singer/songwriter Isla Grant is to make a return to Enniscorthy and the Riverside Park Hotel with her latest show - The Yellow Rose Tour on Thursday, February 7.
Isla has completed some hugely successful tours around the world in recent years.
Her show will feature all her hit songs and a few more recent ones too.

The next meeting of the Retirement Association will be the AGM on Tuesday, February 5, at 2.30 p.m. in The Riverside Park Hotel.
Membership renewals are now due and new members are welcome to join.
Among the items up for discussion will be the propsoed trip to Salou in Spain in September.
Names are being taken and a booking deposit of €150 is required at the February meeting if interested.
Among the ongoing initiatives organised for members are: Monday - Line dancing at 11 a.m. at Astro Active Centre; Indoor bowls at 1 p.m. at Astro Active Centre and pitch and putt at 10 a.m. weather permitting and also at the same time on Friday; Tuesday is bus, walk or lunch; Wednesday - Walk at 11 a.m. from Riverside Hotel; table quiz at 2.30 p.m. every second Wednesday at Loreto Village; Thursday - Ramblers' walk at 9.30 a.m. from Lidl car park and craft sessions at 2 p.m. at the Astro Active Centre.
Wexford Civil Defence is currently recruiting in the Enniscorthy area and training will be on Monday nights from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. at a location in the town.
Provided will be training in first aid, CFR, FAR, EFR, search skills, rescue communications and swift water response.

Charity coffee morning
A special coffee morning in aid of Wexford Hospice Homecare is being held at the home of Linda Tobin Kavanagh at Summerhill, Enniscorthy, this Saturday, February 2, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
All are welcome to come along and enjoy a nice cuppa and a chat and all donations are greatly appreciated.
The Ferns Diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes is to take place from May 11 to May 16. Application forms are now available in the parish office and the closing date for submission is March 1.
The pilgrimage will be led by Bishop Denis Brennan, Fr Matt Boggan and Fr Brian Broaders. Booking arrangements for normal pilgrims is by application directly with Joe Walsh Pilgrim Tours.

Veteran entertainer Johnny McEvoy returns to the Riverside Park Hotel on February 27 for a special show.
Regarded as one of Ireland's best loved entertainers, he has garnered massive critical acclaim over the years for his carefully crafted songs.

Slaney Valley race
The countdown is now well and truly on for the Slaney Valley Adventure Race which takes over Bree on February 16.
The race sees competitors battle it out on bikes, in kayaks on the Slaney and finishing with a nice brisk run around Bree Hill. Some great prizes are available for those recording the quickest times and it looks set to be a great event. The cost of entry is €50 with different rates available for teams.
