Craic was 90 to mark Andy's special birthday
There were great celebrations in the home of Andrew (Andy) Kelly of Kilpierce, Enniscorthy, recently as he marked a milestone birthday having hit the big 90!
Andy was surrounded by family and friends for the special occasion and was blown away by his special birthday cake modelled on one of the trucks he used to drive.
Well known for his work as a lorry driver, Andy built his own company from the ground up which is still trading today under the name Kelly & Sons Kilpierce Ltd. An extremely hard-working man, Andy has had a great passion for lorries all his life and says that if it wasn't for age being against him, he'd still be out there driving today!
Instead, Andy keeps an eye on things from afar and enjoys the odd game of poker or rings, as well as snooker which became a real passion of his and which he never misses on TV, Ronnie O'Sullivan being a favourite. Despite the fact that he's seen a lot in his 90 years, he still keeps up to date with what's going on and regularly tunes into the news and picks up his local newspaper.
Celebrating the milestone birthday with Andy was his wife Sheila. The pair married back in 1964 and she was right by his side as they built their business up to what it is today. Well known throughout the area, the pair still frequently attend Country & Western gigs, even doing the odd turn on the dance floor! A great night was had by all as Andy blew out the candles on a very special cake.
