A view from ringside

Saturday 2nd February last saw a titanic battle of two parishes. Craanford taking on Carnew in a much hyped boxing fundraiser aptly names "Bash for the Cash". Would I go.... can't imagine it being a great night...

How wrong could I have been. That Saturday night was one of the best night's entertainment package the club has run. It was minute for minute excitement as the men from both clubs fought tough and hard for the pride of their clubs. Weeks of hard training saw the guys lean, fit and ready for whatever their opponent was to throw at them.

These guys certainly did not hold back. From the very 1st fight to the last cliff-hanger the men from Craanford Fr. O'Regans GAA club embraced the occasion with guts, determination and sheer pride. Hats off to each and every one of you. Words like epic and colossal only barely begin to describe the achievements of these men on the night.

You deserve the plaudits, congratulations to all concerned for a memorable night.

Anyone who may have missed this night can avail of a special commemorative video now on sale, contact Donal Kenny on 087 2453187. Cost €10.
