Slaney Valley Adventure Race
This year's Slaney Valley Adventure Race will take place next Saturday, February 16. Check-in is from 9 a.m. at Bree Community Centre with the first wave of competitors starting at 10 a.m. The race comprises of a 30km Cycle, a 1km Kayak and a 6.5km Forest Run. There are a number of positions available on the Bree CEP scheme: Cleaner Childcare Facility Bree (1), Community Centre Caretaker/Cleaner Bree (2), Community Centre Caretaker/Cleaner Galbally (1), Childcare Worker Bree (2), Childcare Worker Galbally (1), Clerical Assistant Bree (1). Ballyhogue GAA lotto

St Patrick's Weekend Run/Walk
Galbally Sports and Leisure Club will host a 10k run and 5k walk on bank holiday Monday, March 18. The event will begin at 11 a.m., with registration taking place from 10 a.m. onwards. Entry fee is €5 for the 5k walk and €10 for the 10k run. Both events are open to all ages and abilities. The 10k race will be chip timed and there will be prizes for the first man and woman home.
Refreshments will be served to all participants in the hall afterwards. Everyone is invited to come along and get involved in what promises to be a great community event.

Bree AC News
Bree AC Awards Night took place last Thursday night. Award winners were Darra Casey 'Athlete of the Year'; Abbie Doyle 'Peter Byrne Memorial Trophy'; Jayden Kenny 'Pat O'Leary Distance Trophy': Olivia Howe 'Tony Greene Merit Award'; Lea Bolger 'Paul Kehoe Merit Award'; Katie Doyle 'John Godkin under-13 Award' and Sophie Codd 'Bree ICA Parish Athlete Award'.
An additional meeting with a view to setting up a committee to take over the monitoring of Bree Community Playground will be held in Bree Community Centre on Monday, February 25, at 7 p.m. Phase two of this project will begin shortly. The support of parents of young children would be deeply appreciated. Galbally Tractor Run
The annual Galbally Tractor Run will take place on Sunday, May 26.
Adoration takes place in Caim Church on Mondays. All are welcome to participate.
Caim National School
Caim National School is now accepting applications for enrolment for September 2019. House of Stories
Ballindaggin house of stories will be held this Thursday night, February 14, commencing at 8 p.m. Great Music, song and stories. Admission is free and refreshments served.
A baby and toddler group gather every Tuesday in Glenbrien Old School Centre from 9.45 a.m. to 11.45 a.m. This is an opportunity for young children and their carers (parents/grandparents/childminders) to meet. GRANDPARENTS DAY - A huge thank you to all those who came to our now annual event last Wed, a great day was had by all. Thank you all the parents and relations who provided all the lovely buns and bakes, and to the parents' association for hosting the event. A lovely day and lots of memories made.
CONFIRMATION - This will take place on March 15 and the Ceremony of light will take place on the 19th of Feburary.
ALDI RUGBY VOUCHERS - The school is collecting the Aldi rugby vouchers for the school. Please ask for them and donate them to the school, you can ask all your relations and friends to give them to the children.
CPR Information Evening
CPR could save the life of someone you know. In order to be able to provide a very valuable and much needed service within community we need people to volunteer to be trained as First Aid Responders and also people to help out with the administration and organisation. This service is run in conjunction with the national ambulance service and could save your life or someone you love. An information meeting will be held on Wednesday the 13th. Feb. in Oylegate Community Centre at 8 p.m. We ask everyone interested in any way to attend. For further information contact 086 2313281.

The Oylegate-Glenbrien GAA Club dinner dance will be held in Ferrycarrig Hotel on Saturday, March 2. tickets available locally, your support would be much appreciated.
Oylegate-Glenbrien GAA Club have gaeltacht scholaarships for paid up club members. These scholarships are open to male and female applicants. Any one who wishes to apply for these are asked to apply to Graham Rowley by this Thursday, February 14.

GAA Walking Track
The top track will be fully lit every Monday/Wednesday/Friday evening from 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. for anyone who wishes to avail of the facility to get fit and healthy for 2019. Everybody welcome. Unfortunately for health and safety reasons guide dogs only are allowed.

Local Link Wexford
Local Link Wexford provides secure, reliable and affordable transport for the rural communities of County Wexford. Services are open to everyone and all ages. The services will accommodate those attending appointments, shopping etc. Where possible they will collect passengers from their homes. An information booklet together with timetable is available at the back of the church.
Please note Mass times in Oylegate: Saturday vigil Mass is at 6.30 p.m. Sunday morning Mass is at 10.30 a.m.
Congratulations to Leanne Nolan, Ballymurray, The Ballagh, Defence Forces Cadet, who graduated as an officer on February 4. She was one of seventeen women from the class of seventy-seven who received their commission. Lieutenant Nolan was featured on the front of the Irish Times, in a photograph that included her twin nieces, Elsie and Ailbhe Nolan.
Congratulations to Aoife and Paul Rossiter, Knocknaveigh, The Ballagh on the birth of their second son, Harry, last week.
Congratulations to chairman, Mr Nicky White, who was recently inducted into the IABA Hall of Fame. Nicky has been involved in Boxing for over 40 years and during that time he has been Co. Chair. , Leinster president, treasurer of IABA as well as president of IABA. He also trained a number of Irish champions and travelled with the Irish team as Team Manager on numerous occasions.
Underage GAA Registration
A registration night for Underage GAA and camogie players will be held in Oulart Community Centre on Saturday, February 16, at 8 p.m. For information please contact Elizabeth Freeman at 087 7560871.
Wexford GAA are offering 21 part-funded scholarships to Coláiste Laighean, New Ross in the summer of 2019.The scheme is based on the player's family, the player's club and Wexford GAA paying one-third each of the cost of the two - week residential course. Applicants apply to their local GAA Club and will be included in a draw to determine who wins the scholarship. The student's family only has to pay €160.
The dates of the Courses are as follows: June 23 to July 7 (Cúrsa C for second year-5th Year), July 12 to July 26 (Cúrsa D for sixth class-2nd Year). Each club may nominate two names. Parents/guardians of Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie players who would like their child to be entered for the draw are asked to contact Oulart-The Ballagh, Oifigeach Gaeilge and Cultúr, Breda Jacob (086 1686978) no later than March 4. If there are more than two applicants locally, a supervised draw will be held and the successful applicants will be notified.
Forthcoming events for Martin Sponger Fortunes Mayoral Campaign: Bingo in Bob's bar every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. 'Open Mic' night every Thursday in the Sawdust at 9 p.m. On February 21, a Dog Night in Enniscorthy with an All-Star Race starting at 8 p.m. with 10 Greyhound races on the card. Tickets are €10 each and children under-16 are free.
