Bree-Galbally: Smart Fitness - Smart Fitness Kettlebell and Circuit Training Classes return to Galbally Hall every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7pm.

The classes are suitable for total beginners and are a mix of kettlebell, bodyweight, floor and core exercises. All Exercises are tailored to suit each individual's ability. Fashion Show

A Fashion Show takes place in the Riverside Park Hotel on Wednesday, October 16, in aid of Bree Community Playground. Enniscorthy based shops 'Glamour' and 'Ottiva' are supplying the fashion, 'Perfection by Mon' the make-up and Liam Sharkey is MC for the night. Tickets at €10 are now on sale in Garry Byrnes, Riverside Park Hotel and from any Committee Member.

Yoga Classes

Yoga Classes will take place in Bree Community Centre with Grace Reddington on Monday nights from 8.15 p.m. to 9.15 p.m. and on Thursday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 11.15 a.m. Sessions began on Monday, September 23, and continue for six weeks. Please bring your own mat. Cost is €10.

Indoor Athletics

Indoor Athletic Training resumes in Bree Community Centre on this Thursday, October 3, at 7 p.m. for five- to 10-year-olds and from 7.45 p.m. to 9 p.m. for Bree Athletic Club members. Cost is €2 per child to max of €5 per family.

Scoil Mhuire NS Ballyhogue

The school will be holding a clothing collection on Wednesday, October 23. We ask relatives of students attending the school as well as others in the community to collect any clothing or related items they no longer need. Donations of all clothing types, paired shoes, belts, curtains, bed linens, towels and stuffed animals are accepted and should be dropped off at the school before 9 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23.

The school will receive funds for every kg donated. Thank you for your support.

Galbally table quiz

Galbally Sports and Leisure Club table quiz will take place in the Sycamore House, Killurin (Declan's) on Friday, October 25, at 9 p.m. Table of four €25. Cash prizes and raffle on the night.

Basic Computer Course

Free Basic Computer Course in Galbally Community Centre starting soon (two hours per week for five weeks). Suitable for people with little or no experience in computers. Contact Dawn at 087 8306206 to register interest. Course is funded by Irish Rural Link at Department of Communications.

A table quiz in aid of St John's Clonmore will be held in Enniscorthy Rugby Club at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 25. The quiz will start at 8 p.m. All support appreciated.

Bree Parish Journal

Preparations are under way for this year's edition of Bree Parish Journal. All clubs and organisations in the parish are asked to have a report of their activities over the past two years ready by the end of Oct. The committee is also looking for photographs particularly of groups of people from times past as well as items suitable for publication pertaining to places or people of the area including notable family celebrations.

Sonny Freyne was the match-three winner last week. The numbers drawn were 2, 7, 30 and 32. The jackpot is now €5,300. The next draw will take place in Bowes on Tuesday, October 1, at 9.30 p.m.

Exposition

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in Caim Church every Monday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome to participate.

Caim Vintage Club

Caim Vintage Club held a very successful road run and threshing day day in glorious sunshine on Sunday, September 8. The club raised a total of €5,000 for charity, €4,500 for Wexford Hospice Homecare and €500 for Caim senior citizens outing. A sincere thank you to everyone who worked, donated or helped in any way to make the day a real success. The presentation of cheques will take place on October 5 in Rackards.

Hugh Dunne Memorial Road Run

This was hosted by the Courtnacuddy Vintage club on Sunday last. Proceeds going towards the Waterford Dialysis Unit. It was a great turn out and well done to all who gave their support.

HOLY HOUR; A Holy Hour with Exposition of Blessed Sacrament will take place in Courtnacuddy Church on Sunday, October 12, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Holy Hour will take place every second Sunday of each month.

ADORATION: Would you like to join the adoration team. Adoration takes place in the Davidstown church from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday. Adoration brings many blessing to our parish and you too will be part of that blessing for just one hour a week. Contact Eileen at 087 9331809.

Glenbrien

Walking track

Lights will be on at the Walking track at the GAA grounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the facility is available to all in the community so come along and stay fit over the winter months. The couch to 5k group meet every Weds evening.

Commemorative March

A commemorative march took place on Sunday, September 22, from the Gap Cross to O'Briens Inn. Wreaths were laid at the stone at the Gap Cross, Crossamye and also at both graveyards to honour those that died in 1798 and also those who have passed away since the bi-centenary commemoration celebrations in 1998. Thanks to all those who participated and contributed to the day especially given the incessant rain that fell for the duration of the march. Special thanks to O'Briens Inn for their hospitality on the day in providing refreshments to the participants afterwards. I think it can be agreed that it was a very memorable day for everyone.

Social dancing

The next date for social dancing in Oylegate Community Centre is Sunday, October 13. Music on the night is by Adrian Ryan. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. Admission €8. Come along and enjoy a great night of music, and dancing.

ICA News

The ICA will hold its next meeting on Wednesday the second. Oct. in Oylegate Community Centre at 7.30 p.m. Last month, a most informative and interesting demonstration on 'Gardening and Pruning' was presented by Ciaran Fitzger-ald, Head Gardner in Johnstown Castle.

Craft Fair 2019

The annual Oylegate-Glenbrien craft fair will be held in Oylegate Community Centre on Sunday, November 17, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tables €20 each. Exhibitors from Oylegate and Glenbrien parish will be given first preference. A certain number of tables will be assigned for TY students Mini-Companies and again first pref-erence will be given to students from Oylegate and Glenbrien. Bookings will be taken from mid-October.

The bingo in Mernaghs is now being run to raise much needed funds for the local Tidy Towns, bingo commences at 9.15 on a Thursday night and all support for this worthy cause would be greatly appreciated.

The parents' association is organising a clothes collection to raise funds for the school on October 1 Any unwanted clothes, shoes, bed linen, towels, etc. can be donated. Bags can be dropped off at the school on Sunday, September 29, before and after Mass (10: 40 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 11.30 to 12 noon), on Monday, September 30, before and after school (8.40 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2.40 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and Tuesday, October 1 (8.40 a.m. to 9 a.m.).

Community First Responders

Oulart-The Ballagh CFR Unit is a voluntary group, set up to assist the National Ambulance Service, in our community, seven nights per week. The group is looking for volunteers to come on board. Full training will be given and as they work on a rota, the more people involved the better. Ideally, wordeveryone should have this training as it saves lives.
