Bree-Galbally: Slaney Adventure Race - The Slaney Adventure Race will take place on Saturday, February 8, same routes and events as last year.

Yoga Classes with Grace will resume in the Bree Community Centre Dance Studio on Monday, February 3, at 8.15 p.m. and on Thursday mornings at 10.15 a.m. Sessions are €10.

Bree Parish Journal No 19
Bree Parish Journal No 19 is now on sale. The journal covers many of the events and activities in the area over the past two years, as well as a number of items of historical interest. The cost of the journal is €10 and it is available in Byrnes of Bree, Keeleys. Ballybrennan, Londis Tomnalosset and also in the Bookshops in Enniscorthy and Wexford.
Good luck to the Bree Macra team taking part in the national final of the Capers show competition in Éire Óg Hall in Ovens, Co Cork this Saturday, February 1, at 8 p.m. All support for the event would be greatly appreciated.

Ballyhogue GAA lotto
Since we relaunched the Lotto last March, the jackpot has been won three times. We have had over 130 match-three winners and paid out approximately €20,000 in prize money.
Your support is extremely important to the success of our club and we have plans to develop the grounds in the next few years especially for the underage. We would appreciate if you would consider renewing your annual subscription in the next few weeks or if you are not yet a member joining our lotto. It is €21 a month by standing order or €250 in a one-off payment for 12 months of draws. You also get a free model county draw ticket, worth €50.

Scoil Mhuire NS Ballyhogue
Friday, January 17, was a very special day for Scoil Mhuire NS Ballyhogue. The school has been awarded a Health Promoting School Flag on the basis that there are many positive initiatives in the school which aim to improve the health and fitness of all the students there. It is a huge achievement for the school and Nuala Harper from the HSE presented the pupils with their award and raised the flag. Well done to all involved.

Community First Responders
Oulart-The Ballagh Community First Responders unit are holding a Training Evening on Wednesday, January 29, in Oulart Community Centre, beginning at 9 p.m. The organisers are looking for volunteers to join the Unit and are inviting you to come along for a chat to see what is involved. CFRs provide a vital service to our community and it is worth pointing out that they have answered two 'call-outs' since January 1.
The sympathy of the community is extended to the family and friends of the late Kathleen 'Kit' Burke, née Kinsella (formerly of Raheenaskeagh) daughter of the late Philip and Annie Kinsella, who passed away peacefully on New Year's Eve 2019. RIP.
Primary School enrolment
Enrolment forms for pupils starting school in Oulart, in September 2020 are available from the school office from 8.40 a.m. to 2.40 p.m. It would be greatly appreciated if you would encourage parents/guardians of pupils due to start in September, to register as soon as possible.

Oulart-The Ballagh GAA Club, through its Healthy Club Officer, Breda Flood has signed up, once again for the RTÉ Operation Transformation 'Ireland Lights Up' that was so successful in 2019. Beginning on Monday, January 13, and continuing till February 24, the lights at the Upper Pitch will be on Monday nights from 7 p.m. till 8.30 p.m. to enable walkers/runners to participate. People are asked to sign-in so that the numbers taking part can be recorded.

Oulart and Ballaghkeene Baptism dates for 2020 have been published and will take place on Saturdays at midday or 4 p.m. Three weeks' notice is required. GAA and camogie Medal Presentation Night
On Wednesday, January 15, Oulart-The Ballagh GAA and camogie held an underage Medal Presentation Night in Oulart Community Centre. The under-14 camogie players collected their Shield Final medals and the under-13 boys received their Roinn one Co Hurling medals and their Division 4 Co Football medals. The under-14 boys received the Martin Storey Tournament Medals for winning Division 1 and the under-15 boys got their Roinn one Co Hurling Medals. It was a fantastic night of celebration and the GAA and camogie clubs extend a sincere 'Thank You' to club stalwarts, Tomás Dunne and Barry Kehoe for presenting the medals. Míle buíochas to everyone who attended or helped and well done to the youngsters who are now looking forward to another great year in 2020.
GAA Club lotto
The lotto draw takes place every two weeks. The prize now stands at €15,000. The winning numbers for the draw on Monday, January 20, were 14, 18, 24 and 28 and the Bonus Number was 15. The five €30 lucky-dip winners were Mary and Paidh Doyle, Fiona Newport, Una Kavanagh, Bridget Redmond and Alan Butler. All money made from the lotto go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the club. We would appeal to everyone to support the lotto and we say a big thank you to those who continually supports it. The next draw will be on Monday, February 3.
Bingo in Oulart
Bingo is held in Oulart Community Centre every Sunday night, beginning at 8 p.m. Books are €10 with valuable cash prizes. We would ask as many people as possible to support the bingo because not only does it act as a fundraiser, it is also a great way of socialising and making and meeting friends and parishioners chat.
GAA and camogie registration
There will be a Club Registration night on Tuesday, February 4, from 8.15 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in Oulart Community Centre. Oulart-The Ballagh camogie AGM that was held on Friday night, January 17, in the Upper Complex was very well attended. The camogie club would like to thank Arthur Quinn, outgoing chairperson, for his work last year and wish him the very best of luck. We would also like to thank Geraldine Doyle and Kathryn O'Dowd, who have also stepped down, for all the trojan work that they both did for the past 10 years. They worked very hard and gave a huge amount of time and commitment to the club and we wish them all the best for the future. Anybody wanted to have candles blessed for home use should leave them at the altar to be blessed at Masses next weekend. The blessing for Throats will be given at the end of all weekend Masses.

Community First Responders
Oylegate-Glenbrien community first responders are looking for new members. There will be training on Monday, Feburary 3. We work in conjunction with the national ambulance service and are dispatched by them when you dial 999 or 112 in the event cardiac arrest, chest pain, stroke or choking. Black bag clothes collection
Oylegate-Glenbrien camogie club are having a clothing collection to raise funds for the club. If you are having a clear out, we will take all your unwanted clothes, paired shoes, handbags, belts, curtains and blankets. No duvets, pillows, socks, underwear or wet clothing. Collection at Oylegate Community Centre on Friday, January 31, from 6.30 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Contact Bernie Hayden on 087 2040402.
The lights will be on at the walking track at the GAA Grounds every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the facility is available to all in the community, so come along and stay fit over the winter months.
