Adamstown - Cards: The weekly '30' Card Game continues in the community centre this Friday, February 1, at 9 p.m. Thanks to the ladies for the tea last week. Catering on the night will be Bernie Hickey, Evelyn O'Gorman and Ann O'Gorman.

The next draw in the Adamstown lotto takes place this Friday, February 1, in the community centre for a jackpot of €14,700. Keep on buying the tickets, it could be your lucky day.
The lucky winners in the Adamstown NS split-the-pot draw on Wednesday, January 23, were: School seller - Cian Murphy, third class. Draw winner Ronan Bolger, who got €126, ticket bought in Brad Óg's. Cemetery Committee AGM
The Cemetery Committee AGM will now take place in the community centre this Thursday, January 31, at 8 p.m. On behalf of the parish of St Abban's Fr Nolan PP wishes to thank the Cemetery Committee for their dedication and devotion to the Holy Place where our loved ones rest.

Entrance Assessment Tests: 61 students sat the entrance exams on Saturday the 19th and we are delighted with our 2019/2020 intake of students. Meitheal Awards: Congratulations to our Meitheal Leaders, who got their awards on Wednesday, January 16. Shauna Wickham, Leanne Miller, Laura Dunne, Shannon Banville and Sínead Kehoe.
Huge congratulations to our under-17 and under-14 soccer teams under the guidance of Mr Dixon and Mr Bradley. Both teams have reached the South East semi-finals. We wish them continued success. Visiting Author.
We had the honour of welcoming widely renowned author Andy Mulligan to our school last week. His hugely successful novel Trash has now been adapted into a film, which is a prescribed text on the junior syllabus.
Walk off the Monday Blues
Raheen Family Resource Centre intend running organised walks around the pitch in Adamstown starting on Monday, January 28, The walks will start at 9.30 a.m. and they will then be followed by a free healthy cooking demonstration with tasters in the community centre from 10 a.m. to midday. These walks will take place for four weeks and they are open to all regardless of age of level of fitness, but booking is essential. The AGM of Adamstown GAA Coiste na nÓg will take place this evening (Tuesday the 29th) at 8 p.m. in Adamstown Community Centre. Your attendance is very much appreciated as we make plans for the upcoming year.

There was no winner of the jackpot at the last draw numbers drawn were 15, 20 23 and 24, Match-three winners were Ann Walsh Meelgarrow, CJ and Paul Cloch Ban, and Mary Keating Castleboro, next draw will take place on February 2 in Aughyvouir. The latest winner from split-the-pot was Jacqueline Franklin. The pot was €208 remember all funds are used locally and envelopes can be bought in any of the local shops and businesses.
Development Association AGM
Annual general meeting of Clonroche Development Association Ltd will take place in Clonroche Community Centre on Monday, February 4, at eight o'clock pm. Clonroche Development Association Ltd requires new committed members to carry on the work of improving and maintaining our village.
The association has made a major contribution to the development and maintenance of the village over the past twenty-one years of its existence. This year will mark the opening of a new seven-acre community amenity park and provide an open space that was never available to the village before. The facility will include walking tracks, a children's playground, toilets, maintenance/Men's Shed building and extensive car parking. It will include an open area for games and recreation. The business of landscaping and further development will then take place and we require as many volunteers to help as we can get.
All are invited to attend our AGM on February 4 to put forward your views, ideas and requirements for the betterment of our community and to work towards that goal.

Rathnure Hall Committee
Rathnure Hall Committee would like to thank everyone who joined us for our annual Christmas party recently. It was lovely to see you all and we hope you enjoyed the day. Those of you who weren't able to attend we wish you a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you next year. Thank you to all our wonderfully talented musicians, singers and storytellers who entertained us.

Open Night: Rathnure National School invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their child for September 2019. On Thursday, January 31, an Open Night will take place in the school at 7 p.m. At present there are 187 pupils in the school and nine teachers. Grandparents Day: Grandparents Day will be held at the school on February 1 with Mass at 12.30 p.m. followed by a visit to the classrooms and refreshments at the school. If grandparents are unable to attend, other family members are welcome.

A night of crazy games, BYOB, spot prizes and a small bit of bingo thrown in with some unforgettable craic and laugh. If a night of great banter and games tickles your fancy make your way to Rathnure Hall on February 2 from 8.30 p.m. to be in with the chance of partaking in one of the most original fundraisers that the parish has seen to date.

The numbers drawn last Tuesday the 22nd were 7, 10, 11 and 22. No jackpot winner.
