There was a great atmosphere at The Presentation Centre recently as people came from all over to attend a special Afternoon Bazaar in aid of the Wexford Branch of the Parkinsons Association.

There was a great buzz at the centre over the course of the morning with bottle stalls, bric-a-brac, a wheel of fortune and all other manner of entertainment.

The event was the brainchild of organiser Breda Kennedy, whose husband William is living with Parkinsons. 'I suppose Parkinsons is not something that's usually mentioned that much,' she said. 'I wanted to find a way to raise awareness and raise some funds in the process.'

From that point of view, the event was a big success, raising a total of €1,700 over the three hours it ran. Breda was over the moon with how things went and wished to thank everyone who got involved and lent a hand on the day.

The Wexford branch of the Parkinsons Association currently has between 50 and 100 members and they organise trips and various activities throughout the year.
