Price's Eurospar in Bunclody is among a small group of retailers from around the country that have been honoured at the fourth annual Top of the Tree Retail Awards.

The awards programme recognises best practice and outstanding retail practice in several store departments, including customer care, off-licence, butchery, fruit and veg and the delicatessen section.

Price's Eurospar in Bunclody was awarded a Top of the Tree accolade for its Overall Customer Care, Butchery department, Fruit and Veg department, and Delicatessen department. The supermarket was previously awarded a Top of the Tree accolade for its Butchery department in 2013.

Supermarket owner Ciaran Price said: 'We are delighted to receive these four accolades which are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff. Top of the Tree is not only a mark of pride for our store and staff, but importantly it lets our customers know that we are leaders in the field.

'These accolades are a point of differentiation in what is a very competitive marketplace and we're honoured to receive the recognition.'

The store, which has been serving the locality since 2001 and employs 42 staff locally, is open Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 11pm, and Sundays from 8am to 8pm.

Malachy Hanberry, managing director of Eurospar, BWG Foods, said: 'Eurospar retailers strive for excellence in every aspect of their service to their shoppers and the local communities in which they are embedded. By achieving this standard retailers show their commitment to being industry leaders and their focus on exceeding customer expectations.'
