U15 Boys Metro Final: Dylan Reilly has final say

TEMPLEOGUE College’s Under-15 boys continued the school’s success at this age group by claiming the Dublin Metropolitan title.
A second-half strike from Dylan Reilly at Peamount United FC on Tuesday was enough to give Templeogue a slender final victory over Dublin rivals Coláiste Phádraig CBS.
The batte of the last two Under-15 Leinster Cup champions was a fitting way to conclude the boys schools season, with both sides chasing different feats.
Phádraig were looking to complete a treble after capturing the Leinster Cup and South Dublin league crown earlier in the campaign.
Defeat in the Leinster Champions League showpiece a fortnight ago denied them a chance to complete a clean sweep, but Dublin glory would have been a nice consolation.
In contrast, Templeogue were chasing their first trophy of the campaign after winning the Under-15 Leinster Cup, League and South Dublin treble last year.
Reilly’s strike midway through the second half would give the South Dubliners the vital edge on a day when they started brightest.
With the wind at their backs, Templeogue could have made early pressure pay off, but Glenn Hollywood headed over Miguel Barney’s cross midway through the first half.
Despite striker Yasser Mahrouk threatening on the break with his pace at the other end, Phádraig goalkeeper Joseph Bankole was needed to deny Reilly just before half-time.
The contest would level out after the break, but the Lucan school still needed their goalkeeper to be alert.
Bankole denied Hollywood a clean run on goal, before Mahrouk forced a great save from Stephen O’Byrne with a shot at the other end.
Aaron Rogers saw his free-kick tipped over the bar by Templogue stopper O’Byre and his side capitalised soon after as Reilly cut in off the right and fired into the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Phádraig responded to the setback by going on the attack and O’Byrne again had to deny them, pushing a Rogers free-kick onto the post, before scooping away the resulting corner from Cian McGraine.
Centre-back Jack Ryan threatened with a late drive and shot wide for Templeogue, but the single goal proved enough to seal the victory for his side.
